In most cases the defects are cosmetic such as a grease mark or a small length of a single black thread that occurred in the manufacturing process. Other defects the cord may contain include twists and/or snags in the outer sheath and so forth. In most cases, the defects are limited to a small section of the cord and can be easily worked around.
