This is used to reinforce rope that is tied or wrapped around a point.
The last two photos compare the two sizes of thimbles we have. Height, left 1 inch - right 7/8 inch, width, both are 5/8 inch and thickness, left 1/4 inch - right 3/16 inch, of the two sizes.
